Dr. David Khatami received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Norwich University in Vermont in 2000.
He subsequently joined the Medical Scholar’s Program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign – a dual doctorate program that culminated in a PhD in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Bioengineering in 2008 and an MD with honors in 2011. Dr. Khatami completed an internship in internal medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and Carle Foundation Hospital in 2012 and a residency in diagnostic radiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center – a teaching hospital of the Harvard Medical School in Boston in 2016. He then completed subspecialty training in neuroradiology and musculoskeletal radiology at the same institution in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
He is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology from the American Board of Radiology.
Dr. Khatami’s interest in teaching has earned him several awards over the years. He received membership to BIDMC Academy of Medical Educators in 2015. He was also the recipient of a Cum Laude award at the Radiological Society of North America meeting in 2015 for his educational exhibit.
Dr. Khatami joined Via Radiology in July 2018.
Outside of work, David enjoys photography, traveling, and above all, spending quality time with family and friends.
