Opening of Via Radiology - Meridian Pavilion
Posted on Jul 10, 2006
Through its affiliation with Northwest Hospital & Medical Center, WRA has been a leading provider of diagnostic and interventional radiology services in the north Seattle community for over 35 years.
As a major enhancement to our services, we are pleased to announce the opening of our new outpatient imaging center, Via Radiology – Meridian Pavilion. Located in a beautiful new medical office building at the corner of Northgate Way and Meridian Ave. North, with convenient access from I-5 and other major arterials, this 10,000 square foot center offers state-of-the-art, comprehensive radiology services catering to the needs of the outpatient environment.
Featured in the center is the new Siemens Espree high field (1.5 Tesla) open bore MRI scanner. The Espree is unique in its class, combining the advantages of an ultra wide aperture and short bore design to accommodate obese and claustrophobic patients with the superior image quality of a high-field strength magnet.
We are also pleased to offer the new Siemens Biograph integrated PET/16-slice CT scanner. One of only a handful of its kind currently installed in the marketplace, this new generation of PET/CT is a fusion of the high-speed, high-resolution capabilities of a 16-slice CT scanner with the metabolic and physiologic capabilities of the latest in PET technology. This fusion enables more accurate identification and diagnosis of cancer, heart disease and brain disorders than is achievable with older generation PET-only scanners.
A fully digital center, Via Radiology – Meridian Pavilion also offers state-of-the-art ultrasound, radiography, and a special C-arm fluoroscopy room facilitating efficient and convenient outpatient interventional procedures.
Our specialty center, Via Vascular, formerly Precision Vein Center, is also now located at Meridian Medical Pavilion. Via Vascular is considered a leader in the Seattle area in the use of endovascular laser therapy (EVLT) and sclerotherapy for the treatment of varicose and spider veins.
In keeping with our continued commitment to providing comprehensive subspecialty expertise, Via Radiology is also pleased to announce the addition of three new radiologists this summer: Dr. Shari Jackson, neuroradiologist; Dr. Camelia Whitten, musculoskeletal radiologist; and Dr. Stephen Whipple, interventional radiologist.
Taking full advantage of the broad subspecialty expertise available at Via Radiology, all of our practice sites are interconnected with a high-speed information system and PACS. This will also enable you to readily access all of your patients’ imaging data via one convenient Web-based portal, whether acquired at Northwest Hospital & Medical Center or at Via Radiology.
As you can tell, much has been happening with our practice. Given the breadth of the changes and improvements that have taken place, we felt it was appropriate to give our practice a fresh, new name. Knowing that you and your patients do have a choice, we sincerely believe that these changes will allow us to meet our ultimate goal of providing the highest quality radiology services in the area.
